In this HireUA client interview, Andre Haykal Jr. of KnowledgeX and Client Ascension shares how he hired a rockstar Inbox Manager from Ukraine.
She’s done so well in the business that he ended up paying her a 50% bonus for booked calls in just her first month on the job.
KnowledgeX is a cold email lead generation agency that focuses on personalization to help clients get more booked calls and ultimately attract more clients. As KnowledgeX has scaled up, handling requests from many clients became a huge bottleneck. Andre was spending a large portion of his day managing the inboxes himself — but with him running multiple companies, responding in a timely manner became a huge bottleneck.
He attempted to hire for the role himself, but had trouble finding the right person at the right price.
The role needed someone with strong sales experience and an excellent grasp of English, which was tough to find in the United States while still keeping a healthy margin on the service itself.
Andre had a few doubts about whether any foreigner could handle a job with such an emphasis on written English, but was happy to proven wrong.

Hiring An Inbox Manager
In general, hiring an Inbox Manager is very tough for agencies. You need somebody with…
- Sales experience
- Excellent English
- Who just “gets it” — every response and every potential lead is going to be in a box
It’s not “customer service” where there’s dozens of pre-canned responses for every situation…
Inbox Management is much more of a process that requires specific nuance, sales experience, and of course — nearly perfect written English. This makes it a very tough hire for businesses who prefer to hire overseas to keep costs down.
