I was watching a golf tournament recently. The World’s #1 player, Scottie Scheffler, was sitting in the dirt, looking at a ball, with 300 people watching.
Meanwhile, 50 feet away was his group-mate, actually hitting.
3 people were watching the guy actually hit.
100x more people interested in watching the world’s #1…literally, look at dirt.
That’s gravity.
I’ll tell you this:
Gravity works the same way whether you’re a golfer, a company, or a personal brand. Once you have it, everything bends toward you. Attention, opportunity, talent, money — it all starts flowing in your direction without you having to chase it.
But here’s what most people miss:
Gravity isn’t a strategy. It’s a result.
Scheffler didn’t show up one Sunday and magically have 300 people follow him into the dirt. He won. A lot.
And at some point, the gravity became so strong that people would rather watch him think than watch someone else play.
You can’t fake that. You can’t buy it. You can’t hack it. It only comes from existing success. Then that success dominos into more. Momentum — that voodoo thing that everyone talks about…it’s real.
You earn it one win at a time.
Now, think about this in the context of your business.

That’s the compounding. That’s where gravity comes from.
Here’s the deal:
Every great hire is a win that compounds. Every client you retain is a win that compounds. Every system you build that runs without you — that’s a win that compounds.
And one day you look up and realize people are watching you sit in the dirt.
Not because you asked them to. Because the gravity pulled them there.
The guy hitting behind Scheffler might have been having a great round. Doesn’t matter. Nobody was watching.
That’s the hard truth for every small business competing against the established players. You can be doing excellent work and still be invisible. It’s not unfair. It’s just physics.
The only fix? Keep winning. Stack the reps. Hire well, deliver well, compound.
The gravity will come.
