THE BUYOUT
Two Hires He Plans to Keep for Years
One of the two has been with ABH Media for about two years, the other almost three. One started as a content writer and was promoted to manager; the other came in as a manager. Adam calls them “the backbone of the content team.”
He is buying them out because he sees “years and years to come.” One may move into an SEO Director role; the other is being promoted to a senior content manager role that includes part of the strategy.

THE GROWTH
About 1,000% Since the First Hire
Adam keeps revenue numbers private, but he estimates the agency has grown about 1,000% since that first hire, going “from like one or two to like 15 now.” He puts HireUA’s share of those hires at around a quarter to a third.
His managers now run the content team and the content itself, which is ABH Media’s main deliverable. They work on writers’ skills and tell Adam when a writer needs replacing. His most recent hire through HireUA was another content manager.

OUT OF FULFILLMENT
From 80-Hour Weeks to Running the Company
In the early days, fulfillment took close to 100% of Adam’s time and growth work happened after hours, in 80-hour weeks. Today, asked whether he has removed himself from the day-to-day content and management, he says: “Yeah, 100%.” His full-time job is now normal CEO operations.
HIRING ALONE
What Happened When He Tried It Himself
Adam has tried saving money by hiring without an agency a few times. A strategist hire worked out, and that came from a referral by his content manager, a HireUA hire. Most of the other attempts failed, including a content manager who left after 30 days.
