The Problem

“Graphic Designer” Is as Specific as “Athlete.”

Cool. What sport? Most job posts ask for six different designers in one person. The more you stack on, the longer the search takes and the more it costs. Pick the one you actually need.

Graphic Designer

01

Content & Social Designer

Social graphics, carousels, banners and marketing collateral, following your brand guidelines. The most common need.

Graphic Designer

02

Performance Ad Creative

Meta, Google and TikTok ads measured by CTR and ROAS. The toughest design seat to fill, and often paired with a Media Buyer.

Graphic Designer

03

Email Designer

Klaviyo and Figma emails that work on mobile and match each client’s brand without hand-holding.

Graphic Designer

04

UI/UX Designer

Wireframes, user flows and prototypes for your product. A different animal from marketing design.

Graphic Designer

05

Brand Identity Specialist

Logos, style guides and color systems. Usually a one-time or seasonal hire that sets the direction for everyone else.

Graphic Designer

06

Web Designer

Figma to WordPress or Webflow, landing pages and redesigns. See our Web Designer guide.

Graphic Designer

The Role

Your Brand, Executed Consistently.

Most companies need a strong executor: someone who turns a clear brief into on-brand work, week after week.

Graphics

01

Social Media Graphics

Posts, carousels and stories for Instagram, LinkedIn and more.

Ad creative

02

Ad Creatives

Static ads and variations to test, built to your brand.

Email

03

Email Templates

Campaigns and flows designed in Figma or Klaviyo.

Decks

04

Decks & Sales Materials

Investor presentations, one-pagers and sales collateral.

Web

05

Web & Landing Visuals

Banners, page sections and visuals for your site.

How We Screen

Portfolios Show What Designers Were Asked to Make.

Not what they’re capable of. Here’s how we find designers who can read your brand.

Portfolio

01

The Portfolio Test

We show candidates 3 examples of what you need. They pick 3–5 matching pieces and explain in one sentence why each one fits.

Interview

02

Interview First

A short call before any trial, so candidates understand your brand, audience and goals.

Questions

03

Listen to Their Questions

“How should people feel when they see this?” beats “Which shade do you prefer?”

Timed trial

04

A 90-Minute Trial

The same type of work they’ll do on day one, with a clear brief. Not free strategy consulting.

Detail

05

Taste

Technical skill is common. The instinct to match your existing look isn’t. The trial shows it.

Decision maker

06

One Decision-Maker

Pick one person to judge the work. Committees kill creative hires.

What Clients Say

In Their Own Words.

Trustpilot

“HireUA was an amazing company to work with. They were able to source a Design professional that I originally just needed to make 3D renderings for my construction business and she was able to exceed expectations and also fully redesign my website. AI has allowed me to find other solutions but should I ever need a remote worker this is the company I’d go with rather than try to source talent myself! Efficient, Easy, Affordable!”

Trustpilot

“We used HireUA to find a marketing manager for our agency. It was hands-down the smoothest hiring process we have ever had. In a few days, we had a curated list of great-fit candidates. We’ve had zero issues with our hire. We will be using HireUA again for our future needs!”

Trustpilot

“Used HireUA to hire my first employees for my company and they were absolutely fantastic. Helped pave the way for how I operate the business now. If you’re looking for extremely talented overseas employees, dont hesitate to reach of to HireUA. They make the process extremely simple and easy. They literally handle everything from sourcing, interview screening, managing, etc”

Before You Hire

The Brand Guidelines Minimum.

Your homework, not theirs. Have this ready and you’ll get designs you like on the first try.

Colour palette

01

Your Color Palette

Hex codes, not “we like blue.” Primary, secondary and accent colors.

Fonts

02

Your Fonts

Which typeface for headers, which for body text. Pick and commit.

Designs you love

03

Designs You Love

3–5 examples from anyone, anywhere. Show, don’t tell.

Designs you hate

04

Designs You Hate

3–5 more. Knowing what you don’t want rules out whole categories.

Files

05

Logo Files & Tone

SVG and transparent PNG files, plus a real tone description, not “friendly and engaging.”

Screen recording

06

A 5-Minute Loom

Walk through your site, socials and competitors. Say what you like and what you’d change.

Global Talent

Great Designers Aren’t Limited to Your Zip Code.

We recruit across 40+ countries and match the market to the kind of design you need.

EUROPE

Eastern Europe

Strong for web and UI/UX work. Visibly’s Web Designer is from Ukraine, and Monarch Wave Marketing’s WordPress Developer is from Serbia.

LATAM

Latin America

Our Pricing Guide’s best region for Graphic Designers, with natural US time-zone overlap for fast feedback loops.

We hire for taste and the ability to read your brand, not the prettiest Behance page.

Questions

Graphic Designer FAQs

How much does it cost to hire a Graphic Designer?

Graphic Designers typically earn $2,000–$3,000 a month full-time. That’s what the person earns, not HireUA’s fee.

What’s the difference between a Graphic Designer and a Creative Director?

A Graphic Designer executes: you give them a brief, references and brand guidelines, and they produce the design. A Creative Director sets the strategy and visual direction.

Should I judge candidates by their portfolio?

Not on its own. A portfolio shows what a designer was asked to make. We ask candidates to match their work to your examples, then run a short trial.

How long should a design trial task be?

About 90 minutes, on the same type of work they’ll do on day one, after a short interview.

Can one designer do social, email, ads and web?

Sometimes, but stacking everything into one role makes the search longer and the hire more expensive. Pick the core need, or hire two people.

What do I need ready before I hire?

Your color palette, fonts, logo files, 3–5 designs you love and 3–5 you hate, a real tone description and a short Loom walkthrough.

What should I call the role?

Graphic Designer. Then say exactly what they’ll design. Made-up titles shrink your applicant pool.

How quickly can I meet candidates?

Qualified candidates are presented within 5 days of kickoff. Total time to hire depends on how quickly you interview and decide.

What’s the difference between Monthly Hire and Direct Hire?

With Monthly Hire, you pay HireUA, and we pay and administer your Graphic Designer, including payroll and compliance. With Direct Hire, you employ them directly and pay a placement fee of 15% of annual salary, $3,000 minimum.
