The Problem
Stop Spending Your Nights Editing Videos
- You started a YouTube channel to create content. Not to spend your evenings cutting out awkward pauses.
- You built an agency to serve clients. Not to chase freelance editors who disappear when deadlines approach.
- You launched an advertising campaign. Now your next creative variation is stuck in an editing queue.
Sound familiar?
The problem usually isn’t that you can’t find someone who knows how to use editing software. It’s finding someone who understands what you’re trying to produce.
Someone who knows when a video is dragging. When the opening needs work. When a cut feels awkward. When the footage needs something extra. And someone who can actually deliver without you managing every frame.
That’s the person you want to hire.

Why HireUA
You Need an Editor. Not Another Hiring Project.
Alternative
- Doing it yourself. You spend your time editing instead of creating, selling or running your business.
- Job boards and marketplaces. You sort through applications, review portfolios, arrange interviews and figure out who can actually do the job.
- Hiring freelancers project by project. Different editors, inconsistent availability and a new briefing process every time.
- Agencies restricted to one country. Your search is limited to whichever market that agency recruits from.
HireUA
- Doing it yourself. We recruit someone who can take that work off your plate.
- Job boards and marketplaces. We handle sourcing and screening. You interview the finalists.
- Hiring freelancers project by project. We help you recruit someone who can become part of your team.
- Agencies restricted to one country. We recruit talent from 40+ countries. We start with the role and find the market that fits.
We’ve made 1,100+ placements across remote roles. We’re not trying to sell you a particular country. We’re trying to fill your seat.
What This Role Owns
What Can Your Video Editor Actually Handle?
01
Long-Form Video Editing
YouTube videos, interviews, podcasts, webinars and other long-form content. Clean edits that maintain pacing and make the finished video worth watching.
02
Short-Form Content
Instagram Reels, TikToks, YouTube Shorts and clips repurposed from longer recordings. Captions, hooks, transitions and platform-specific formatting.
03
Advertising Creative
Meta Ads, YouTube Ads, video sales letters, UGC edits and variations for different campaigns. Editing that serves the message, not just the aesthetics.
04
Post-Production
Sound cleanup, color correction, B-roll, motion graphics, subtitles and final exports, depending on the editor’s specialization.
05
Production Workflow
Taking briefs, incorporating feedback, managing revisions and delivering files on schedule.
HOW WE SCREEN
We Want to See the Work.
A polished resume doesn’t tell you whether someone understands pacing, storytelling or creative direction. We review relevant portfolios, look at experience with the formats you need, and evaluate how candidates approach briefs, feedback, deadlines and independent work. A great short-form editor isn’t automatically a great long-form editor. We recruit for the actual job.

Where We Recruit
Great Editors Aren’t Limited to One Country
Our approach: We don’t believe there’s one country where all the good video editors live. Creative talent is universal. What matters is finding an editor whose work, communication and expectations fit your business.
EUROPE
Eastern Europe
A strong market to include in your search. We evaluate each candidate’s portfolio, experience, creative judgment and ability to work with your team.
LATAM
Latin America
Another viable market for video editing across formats. We consider work samples, communication requirements and working-hour overlap.
ASIA
The Philippines and Southeast Asia
Also firmly within our search. Editors are assessed on their individual skills, experience and ability to deliver the kind of content you need.
Questions
Video Editor FAQs
How much does it cost to hire a video editor?
Full-time video-editor pay starts at $2,000/month. That’s the editor’s compensation, not HireUA’s fee. We offer Monthly Hire and Direct Hire arrangements.
Can I hire someone to edit YouTube videos?
Yes. We recruit video editors for long-form YouTube content, including talking-head videos, interviews, educational content and more complex productions. We’ll look for experience matching the style you’re trying to create.
Can I hire someone for Instagram Reels, TikTok and YouTube Shorts?
Yes. Short-form video editing is one of the specializations we recruit for. That includes cutting longer recordings into clips, adding captions, pacing edits and formatting videos for different platforms.
Can one video editor handle both long-form and short-form content?
Yes, provided the editor has the relevant skills. Some editors specialize in one format. Others are comfortable across several. We recommend judging this by actual portfolio work rather than assuming every editor can do everything.
Can you find editors for paid advertising?
Yes. We recruit editors for Meta Ads, YouTube Ads, video sales letters and other advertising formats. We’ll look for candidates whose experience matches the type of creative your campaigns require.
Can a video editor also handle podcast production?
Yes, depending on the scope. That may include editing full episodes, handling multi-camera footage, cleaning up audio and creating short clips. We’ll define which responsibilities you need before starting the search.
Do video editors also write scripts and film content?
Not necessarily. A video editor primarily handles post-production. Scriptwriting, filming and broader content strategy are separate responsibilities. If you need those skills combined, we’ll need to define that in the role.
Which country is best for hiring video editors?
There’s no universal answer. We recruit across Eastern Europe, Latin America, the Philippines and other markets. The right hire depends on their portfolio, experience, communication and ability to produce your particular style of content.
How quickly can I hire a video editor?
We present qualified candidates within 5 days of kickoff. The full hiring timeline depends on how quickly you conduct interviews, evaluate candidates and make your decision.
Can I interview editors and review their work before hiring?
Yes. HireUA handles sourcing and screening, then presents candidates for you to evaluate. You review their experience and portfolios, conduct interviews and choose whom to hire.
What’s the difference between Monthly Hire and Direct Hire?
With Monthly Hire, you pay HireUA, and we handle payment and administration of the hire, including payroll and compliance. With Direct Hire, you employ the person directly and pay HireUA a placement fee.
