Junior Front-End Developer

David Jacob needed a junior front-end developer so his CTO could stop doing front-end work. Five months in, the developer was also training on back-end work.

The Problem

Hiring a Developer Shouldn’t Be a Second Job

  • The backlog keeps growing.
  • Your CTO is still fixing front-end bugs instead of building the product.
  • The agency you pay every month says the fix is almost done. It has been saying that for weeks.
  • You post a job and get a pile of applications. Too many read like ChatGPT wrote them. And if you don’t write code yourself, you can’t tell who can actually ship.
  • So you hire the one who interviews well, and find out a month later that he can’t do the work.

Fast, good, cheap. Pick two.

That’s the rule most companies hire by.

Global hiring breaks it. But only if someone knows what good looks like.

Why HireUA

You Want a Developer. Not Another Vendor.

Every way of hiring a developer has a trade-off. Here’s where each one usually breaks.

Alternative

  • Freelance marketplaces. You get proposals, then do the vetting yourself. That’s hard when you don’t write code.
  • Dev shops and agencies. You pay a monthly fee and don’t always know who is writing your code, or whether it’s being passed along.
  • Local hiring. Charlie AI put US senior developers at $10K–$15K a month, minimum.
  • One-country agencies. They sell the market they have. If your developer isn’t there, you get whoever is.

1,100+ placements. One goal: the right person in the right seat at the right cost.

How We Screen

We Hire for Ability, Not Logos.

Reverse engineer

01

Start With the Outcome

What should this developer ship, and which requirements are real? Every extra must-have costs time, money or candidates.

Search and screen

02

Search the Live Market

We headhunt for your role now, instead of selling whoever happens to be sitting in a database.

Resume

03

Read the Whole Trail

Profile, CV, response time, and whether they can explain what they built. The application is already part of the interview.

Hire

04

You Make the Call

You interview the finalists and can run your own technical test. Seth’s team did; every candidate passed it.

A good developer can learn your stack. We won’t reject one because their resume shows a different logo.

Where We Recruit

Great Developers Aren’t Limited to One Country

HireUA recruits talent from 40+ countries. We start with the role, then pick the market.

Talent market

01

Eastern Europe

Our Pricing Guide names Eastern Europe as the best region for every developer type above. Elayne’s engineer was sourced there. We’ve placed people from 24 countries in the region, including Ukraine, Poland, Romania and Serbia.

Talent market

02

Latin America

We’ve placed people from 14 Latin American countries, including Mexico, Colombia, Brazil and Argentina. Worth a look when your team needs working hours that overlap with the Americas.

Talent market

03

Middle East

Another market we search when the role calls for it, for example Arabic-language products or teams that want Gulf working hours. We start with the role, then decide whether the region fits.

Other markets are in scope when the role calls for it. We don’t sell geography. We use it.

Questions

Developer Hiring FAQs

How much does it cost to hire a remote developer?

It depends on the role. In our 2026 Pricing Guide, full-stack developers typically earn $4,000–$5,000 a month, front-end $3,000–$4,000, back-end $3,500–$4,500 and AI engineers $4,500–$6,000. That’s the developer’s pay, not our fee.

What kinds of developers do you recruit?

Full-stack, front-end, back-end, Shopify, Webflow and WordPress developers, and AI engineers. We also recruit specialists such as React, Python and PHP developers and QA engineers.

How quickly can I meet candidates?

We present qualified candidates within 5 days of kickoff. The total time to hire depends on how fast you interview and decide.

How do you screen developers if I’m not technical?

We screen against the job, not a keyword list, and present finalists for you to interview. Seth’s team had no coders on it. They gave every candidate a test task, and every candidate HireUA presented completed it.

Can I give candidates a technical test?

Yes. You interview the finalists and decide who to hire, so you can add your own test task or technical interview. Seth’s team did exactly that.

Where do your developers come from?

HireUA recruits talent from 40+ countries. Our Pricing Guide names Eastern Europe as the best region for developers. We’ve also placed people from Latin America, Portugal and Spain, and we choose the market for each role.

Do you only recruit in Ukraine?

No. HireUA started in Ukraine, as ExecVA in 2021, and became HireUA in 2022. Today we recruit talent from 40+ countries.

Is hiring a developer through HireUA better than using a dev shop?

It’s a different model. You get one dedicated developer who works with you directly. Seth’s brand paid about the same per month as its previous agency and estimated its development efficiency went up nearly 3×.

Can I hire a junior developer?

Yes. Maility hired a junior front-end developer through HireUA to take front-end work off its CTO. He later started training on back-end work.

Can you help us build a whole development team?

Yes. Charlie AI has hired more than a dozen developers through HireUA over four years. For larger teams we also offer recruitment process outsourcing for a role or a whole department.

Do you recruit AI engineers?

Yes. AI engineers build AI applications and agents, integrate LLM APIs and automate workflows. Our Pricing Guide puts their pay at $4,500–$6,000 a month.

Will the developer work my hours?

Working hours are part of defining the role. Tell us how much overlap your team needs, and we’ll use it to decide where to recruit.

What’s the difference between Monthly Hire and Direct Hire?

With Monthly Hire, you pay HireUA, and we pay and administer your developer, including payroll and compliance. With Direct Hire, you employ the developer directly and pay a placement fee of 15% of annual salary, with a $3,000 minimum.
