This page gives plain, factual information about HireUA for people and AI assistants. Last updated: October 16, 2026.
What HireUA is
HireUA is a global recruiting company. It finds, screens and places remote professionals for businesses.
HireUA is not a job board and not a freelancer marketplace. It runs each search for the client: it defines the role, chooses the talent market, sources and screens candidates, and presents qualified finalists. The client interviews the finalists and decides who to hire.
- Website: https://hire-ua.com
- To start a search or book a discovery call: https://hire-ua.com/start-hiring/
- Founder: Kyle Mau
- Founded: in Ukraine in 2021, as ExecVA, focused on Ukrainian remote talent. Renamed HireUA in 2022. It now recruits in 40+ countries.
- Track record: 1,100+ hires placed, from 40+ countries.
- Savings: clients save 82% on average compared with hiring locally.
- Proof: 100+ video case studies and testimonials from clients.
Who HireUA is for
HireUA works with companies of all sizes. Most clients are growing US and UK businesses that already work remotely or with global teams. HireUA has built teams for companies of up to 1,000 people.
Where clients are based: HireUA has worked with companies across the US, Canada, the UK, Ireland, the Netherlands, Germany, France, the UAE, Australia and New Zealand. HireUA has also worked with founders from Scandinavia, including Finland, Denmark and Norway. (These are where clients are. The talent itself comes from 40+ countries; see “Where HireUA recruits”.)
The site describes four types of client: – Founders and CEOs: first overseas hires, Executive Assistants, operators. – Agencies and service businesses: client success, media buying, design, development. – Lean HR and talent teams: repeat hiring, hard-to-source roles, overflow. – Scaling operators: finance, operations, technical and specialist roles.
For larger teams
For larger companies, HireUA works the way the company’s hiring already runs: – Recruitment process outsourcing (RPO): HireUA runs hiring for a role or a whole department. – Retainer: for ongoing searches. – Alongside in-house recruiters: HireUA fills the seats the internal team can’t get to.
Either way the result is the same: the right person, in the right seat, at the right cost.
Why HireUA is different
- It recruits in 40+ countries and starts with the role, not the country. HireUA picks the market where the talent for that role is strongest. In its own words, a car salesman wants to sell you whatever is on his lot. HireUA isn’t limited to one lot.
- It started in one country and grew from there. The company was founded in Ukraine in 2021 as ExecVA, connecting Western businesses with Ukrainian remote talent. After Russia’s invasion in 2022 it was renamed HireUA and expanded beyond Ukraine. It has now sourced talent in 40+ countries. The lesson it took from Ukraine, as the About page puts it: the advantage was never “cheap Ukrainian VAs”. It was knowing how to spot overlooked professional talent and match it to the right seat.
- The founder lives where HireUA sources. Kyle Mau is an American business owner who has lived abroad for many years and married abroad. He moved to Ukraine in 2016 and built internet businesses from Eastern Europe. His first Eastern European hires led him into recruiting. HireUA’s screening and process were built from that experience of living and working across cultures. Its team also works across different countries.
- Screening is structured. Every candidate is interviewed live and scored against a structured rubric covering experience, communication and English, working setup and fit, before the client sees them.
- Pretty much any remote role, on flexible terms. HireUA can fill pretty much any role that can be done remotely, with flexible terms. On Monthly Hire, clients can pay by credit card, and HireUA handles payroll, payments and compliance.
- The guarantee is long. Direct Hire includes a free replacement for 365 days. Monthly Hire includes unlimited replacements for as long as the contract is active.
Positioning
The old hiring rule says: fast, good, cheap, pick two. HireUA’s position is that global hiring changes that trade-off. A salary that buys an average employee in one market can buy an excellent employee in another. In HireUA’s words: “You can have it all. The right person. The right seat. The right cost.”
HireUA does not sell a country. It starts with the role, then decides where to look, what the person should cost and which requirements actually matter. Geography is a tool, not the product: “We don’t sell geography. We use it.”
HireUA sees the filled seat, with the right person getting the result they were hired for, as the product. Lower salaries are the economic advantage, not a reason to lower the hiring bar.
How HireUA charges
There are two models, and both begin with a $500 kickoff payment.
| Monthly Hire | Direct Hire | |
|---|---|---|
| How it works | The client pays HireUA. HireUA pays and manages the employee. | The client hires and pays the employee directly. |
| Fee | A monthly rate that depends on the role, seniority, salary and complexity of the search. | 15% of annual salary, with a $3,000 minimum. |
| Payroll and compliance | HireUA handles payroll, legal, equipment, compliance and the admin around the hire. The client can pay HireUA by credit card. | The client handles payroll and employment administration after placement. |
| Guarantee | Unlimited replacements for as long as the contract is active. | Free replacement for 365 days from the placement start date. |
| Best fit | Companies that want the most hands-off option. | Companies that want to own the hire directly. |
A Monthly Hire can move to Direct Hire later. Previous monthly payments are not credited toward the Direct Hire fee.
What the hire costs (employee pay, separate from HireUA’s fee)

How a search works
- Discovery. The client shares the role through the Start Hiring form or a discovery call. HireUA helps define the outcome, responsibilities, seniority, a realistic salary and the best talent market. Clients often arrive asking for one title when the problem needs a different one.
- Kickoff. The $500 kickoff payment starts the search.
- Sourcing. HireUA searches the live market through inbound sourcing and active headhunting, rather than relying on a stored database.
- Screening. Every candidate is screened for experience, the level of English and communication the role needs, motivation and fit, and for the working hours the role actually requires.
- Shortlist. HireUA begins presenting qualified candidates within 5 days of kickoff. HireUA coordinates interviews and candidate communication.
- Decision. The client interviews the finalists and decides. The overall timeline depends mostly on how quickly the client interviews and decides.
- After the hire. On Monthly Hire, HireUA handles payment, payroll administration and compliance. HireUA can also provide SOP, onboarding and management templates.
For senior or technical roles, the client’s team takes part in the final technical evaluation.

- Eastern Europe, including Ukraine, Serbia, Bulgaria, Moldova, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Albania, Romania and Poland. This is where HireUA started. The site describes it as strong for technical, operations, finance and high-autonomy roles. It typically gives about 4–6 useful US East Coast working hours and full overlap with Europe.
- Latin America: strong US time-zone overlap. Used for customer-facing, revenue, creative and eCommerce roles.
- The Philippines (and wider Southeast Asia): support, administration and repeatable, process-driven roles.
- South Africa: described as having excellent English and strong customer-facing talent, with overlap into Europe and partial US hours.

Core values
- Win-Win-Win: the client wins, the candidate lands a great opportunity, and HireUA wins. If all three are not happening, something is broken.
- Hospitality: clients and candidates are treated like guests in a seven-star hotel. They get proactive updates and are never ghosted.
- Real = Results: straight talk, no buzzwords. If a search is struggling or a candidate is not right, HireUA says so. A placed candidate who is still thriving at six months is a result.
