To hire a Video Editor for a Meta ads agency
The Magic of Marketing
The Magic of Marketing hired a Video Editor through HireUA in 21 days. Ads need creative to test, and this is the seat that makes it.
The Problem
You’re Not Hiring a Unicorn.
It starts simple: you need someone to run your Meta ads. Then the job post grows. TikTok experience would be nice. They should review ad copy. Creative strategy, design, email. Now you’re budgeting for one person and describing four.
The Unicorn Job Post
- Media Buyer, Creative Strategist, Copywriter and designer in one seat
- Deep experience required on five platforms
- A spend requirement that keeps rising mid-search
- Strategist responsibilities on an executor’s budget
- Four interview rounds and a committee that can’t decide
The Real Seat
- One primary platform, plus a second only if you truly need it
- B2B or B2C, chosen before the search starts
- Executor or strategist, priced for what it is
- A walkthrough of your real ad account in the interview
- One decision maker and two rounds, max
Bottom line: A good Media Buyer is involved in creative, copy and analytics. Involved in isn’t the same as owning them. Lock the scope, and the right person gets a lot easier to find.
The Role
Your Ad Spend. Their Responsibility.
A Media Buyer lives inside the ad platforms. They’re measured on ROAS, CPA, CPM and spend efficiency, not on how busy the dashboard looks. Here’s what the job actually covers.
01
Campaign Build
Structure campaigns, ad sets and audiences in Meta Ads Manager, Google Ads or TikTok, built to the strategy and guardrails you set.
02
Bids, Budgets & Spend
Set bid strategies, monitor spend daily and move budget toward what’s working before waste piles up.
03
Audiences & Placements
Choose and refine targeting, placements and exclusions, and catch audience overlap that quietly drains budget.
04
Testing & Optimization
Run structured tests and scale the winners profitably, not just louder.
05
Reporting That Means Something
Report on the numbers that matter for your model, whether that’s purchases and ROAS or booked B2B calls and cost per lead.
06
Creative Feedback
Tell you which hooks, headlines and angles are winning, so your creative team or Creative Strategist knows what to make next.

Know What You’re Hiring
Executor or Strategist? B2B or B2C?
The title on a resume won’t tell you which one you’re getting. “Senior Media Buyer,” “Growth Marketer” and “Performance Marketer” get used interchangeably. Decide these before you search.
01
The Executor
You have the strategy, the creative and the target metrics. They build campaigns, monitor performance and optimize inside your guardrails. This is what most companies actually need.
02
The Strategist
They are the strategy: platforms, audiences, creative direction, testing frameworks and scaling. Harder to find, and priced accordingly.
03
B2C vs. B2B
Selling a product online and booking a B2B discovery call are different jobs. Hire someone who has worked in your world, with the backend to match.
04
Platform Reality
Meta and Google are the baseline. TikTok, LinkedIn, Pinterest and Snap are specialist pools. Hire for your primary platform first.
What Clients Say
In Their Own Words.
“We used HireUA to find a marketing manager for our agency. It was hands-down the smoothest hiring process we have ever had. In a few days, we had a curated list of great-fit candidates. We’ve had zero issues with our hire. We will be using HireUA again for our future needs!”
“I used HireUA to get a social media manager/VA. They were fast, reliable, well-priced, and professional to deal with. Now I’m referring clients to them which is the ultimate sign of trust. Stop using bad agencies and work with a pro like HireUA.”
“It’s such a simple and straightforward process. The people are already qualified. They’re already vetted. They know what we’re looking for, and I just get calls on my calendar instead of having to build the whole hiring system myself.”

Questions
Media Buyer FAQs
How much does it cost to hire a Media Buyer?
Media Buyers typically earn $2,500–$4,500 a month full-time, and the range depends heavily on seniority. That’s what the person earns, not HireUA’s fee.
What’s the difference between a Media Buyer, a Performance Marketer and a Growth Marketer?
A Media Buyer is the most specific: someone living inside the ad platforms, measured on ROAS, CPA and spend efficiency. A Performance Marketer usually adds landing pages and conversion optimization. A Growth Marketer is the broadest and may own the whole acquisition engine. Match the title to the actual job.
Should my Media Buyer also handle creative strategy?
If your spend is modest, one person wearing both hats can work. As spend grows, splitting the roles usually performs better: the Media Buyer runs the machine, and a Creative Strategist decides what goes into it. A good buyer still feeds back which angles are winning.
Which platforms should a Media Buyer know?
Meta and Google are the baseline, and most experienced buyers have at least one. TikTok, LinkedIn, Pinterest and Snap are specialist platforms with smaller talent pools. Requiring deep experience on more than two or three platforms narrows your search a lot.
Can you find me a Google Ads Media Buyer?
Yes. Google is one of the two baseline platforms, so the talent pool is deep. Tell us whether you need Search, Shopping, Performance Max or YouTube, and what monthly spend they’ll manage. Pay follows seniority: about $1,800–$2,500 a month for junior, $2,500–$3,500 for mid-level and $3,500–$4,500 for senior, full-time.
Can you find me a Meta Ads (Facebook and Instagram) Media Buyer?
Yes. Meta is the platform we hire for most. Facebook and Instagram run out of the same Ads Manager, so one good Meta buyer covers both. Look for someone who can explain how they test creative and when they scale a winner. Pay is the same seniority bands: mid-level Meta buyers typically earn $2,500–$3,500 a month full-time.
Do I need separate buyers for Facebook and Instagram?
No. They’re the same ad account and the same skill set. Hire one Meta buyer and judge them on results across both placements.
Can you hire a TikTok Ads Media Buyer?
Yes, but the pool is smaller than Meta or Google. TikTok rewards fast creative testing, so you want a buyer who works closely with your editors and reads early data quickly. If TikTok is a must-have, say so up front so we screen for it from day one.
What about TikTok Shop?
TikTok Shop is its own job. It mixes ads with affiliates, creators and the shop itself. If that’s what you need, tell us, and we’ll screen for people who have actually run a TikTok Shop, not just TikTok ads.
Can you find a Pinterest Ads Media Buyer?
Yes. Pinterest is a specialist platform with a smaller talent pool, and it works best for visual products like home, fashion and food. Most Pinterest buyers also run Meta, which is usually the smarter hire unless Pinterest is your main channel.
Should I hire one buyer for every platform?
Usually not. One strong buyer on Meta and Google beats someone who is average on five platforms. Requiring deep experience on more than two or three platforms narrows your search a lot. Start with where most of your spend goes.
Should I hire a B2B or a B2C Media Buyer?
Whichever matches your business. B2C buyers live in fast purchase feedback loops. B2B buyers work with higher costs per lead, longer sales cycles and a sales team that has to follow up. The skills don’t transfer as cleanly as people think.
How do I evaluate a Media Buyer?
Give finalists view-only access to your ad account and ask for a 30-minute walkthrough of what they see and what they’d change first. A strong buyer gets specific fast. Then run a short paid trial with your top pick before you decide.
Can I hire a Media Buyer part-time?
Yes. Part-time can work well if you need execution support on one or two platforms rather than full strategic ownership.
How long does it take to hire a Media Buyer?
Qualified candidates are presented within 5 days of kickoff. Total time to hire depends on how quickly you interview and decide. Clear requirements and one decision maker make the biggest difference.
What’s the difference between Monthly Hire and Direct Hire?
With Monthly Hire, you pay HireUA, and we pay and administer your Media Buyer, including payroll and compliance. With Direct Hire, you employ them directly and pay a placement fee of 15% of annual salary, $3,000 minimum.
